Lab Introduction

The laboratory of Prof. Xiong is part of the Emory University School of Medicine (ranked Tier 1 in Best Medical Schools: Research by U.S. News 2023-2024). Located in the state-of-the-art biomedical research building on Emory’s main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, the lab is equipped with cutting-edge facilities and surrounded by a vibrant academic environment. The Atlanta metropolitan area offers a mild climate, a thriving economy, convenient living, and a dynamic Chinese community.

02

Research Focus

Our lab investigates urogenital development and diseases, particularly prostate cancer and kidney-related disorders. We employ cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, immunology, and mouse genetic models to study how metabolism (e.g., lipid metabolism) and cytokines regulate cell fate and function, spanning molecular mechanisms, cellular pathways, and disease models.
