1、Job Details

A post-doctoral research opportunity is available in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of California, Davis. The incumbent will focus on studying the molecular interactions between the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri), Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), and D. citri-specific viruses and develop viral infectious clones/viral vectors of the D. citri-specific viruses.

In addition to conducting research, the incumbent will also participate in training undergraduate student researchers, preparing manuscripts and grant reports, and cooperating with other team members and collaborators.

2、Job Requirements

A Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Plant or Insect Virology or a closely related field.
The position requires significant experience in virology, insect-microbe interactions, experience in working with plants and in maintaining insect colonies, and strong analytical ability. Expertise in molecular virology, biology, and cloning will be required. Experience in bioinformatics will also be a preferred qualification.
