德国TU Darmstadt智能硬件计算中心招收两名硕士毕业生(已经毕业或者2022年底前毕业)攻读博士。研究方向为基于FPGA和数字电路的神经网络硬件加速设计。招生要求为具有神经网络硬件电路设计方法基础。此职位净收入约为每月2300欧元。博士研究开始时间为2022年10月- 2023年1月中任何一个月。

1、Applicant Requirements

①Open PhD Position for Exploring the Logic of Neural Computing

Expected starting date: Oct 01, 2022 – Jan 01, 2023

Duration: 3 years with a possible extension

Tasks:

(1)This new PhD position aims to explore logic representation of AI algorithms, e.g., neural networks.

Concrete topics of this position can include but not limited to:

• Exploration of the conversion of neural networks into logic design

• Extraction of the high-level descriptions of neural networks with the converted logic design

• Exploration of various arithmetic operators and architectures to enhance the trustworthiness and efficiency of neural networks(2)Appropriate participation in administrative tasks, in teaching courses, and in supervising student work is expected.

Requirements:

• A completed master degree in electrical engineering, computer science or other related disciplines

• The final grade should not be worse than “Good”

• Detailed knowledge of digital designs, and proficiency in C, Python, VHDL/Verilog programming languages

• A good understanding of AI algorithms, e.g., neural networks, or is strongly interested in exploring AI algorithms

②Open PhD Position for Efficient AI Algorithm Implementation with FPGAs

Expected starting date: Oct 01, 2022 – Jan 01, 2023

Duration: 3 years with a possible extension

Tasks:

(1)This new PhD position aims to explore the efficient implementation of AI algorithms, e.g., neural networks, with FPGAs. Concrete topics of this position can include but not limited to:

• Efficient implementation of neural networks taking advantages of the structure of FPGAs

• Hardware-software codesign for AI algorithms and FPGA implementation

• Maximum utilization of FPGAs for AI algorithms, e.g., neural networks

(2)Appropriate participation in administrative tasks, in teaching courses, and in supervising student work is expected.

Requirements:

• A completed master degree in electrical engineering, computer science or other related disciplines

• The final grade should not be worse than “Good”.

• Detailed knowledge of FPGAs, and proficiency in C, Python, VHDL/Verilog programming languages.

• A good understanding of AI algorithms, e.g., neural networks, or is strongly interested in exploring AI algorithms
