Introduction

The Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences (APSC), College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA-24061, has an opening for a Ph.D. position starting in the spring of 2023. The successful candidate will join the research program of biosensors and lab-on-chips development for sensing animal diseases. This position consists of a stipend and tuition waiver.

Required qualifications include

• A Bachelor’s or Masters’s degree in Engineering, Bio-engineering, Material Science, Animal Science or

a related discipline;

• Excellent academic background, and Self-motivation

Preferred qualifications include

• Experience working with Biosensing Devices, Materials Science, Micro/nanofabrication, Additive

Manufacturing, Electronic circuits, Electrochemical and Optical sensors.
